Geez, this has turned into a BlipBlog!  lol
I’ve been SUPER busy these days: working hard, going to shows/fesitvals, general life-living.
Here’s the most recent recap:
April was pretty great!  I got a chance to go to Coachella which you saw in the video of SSPU, but while I was there I got to see/hear Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Leonard Cohen, Paul McCartney (!!!!!!!), TV on the Radio, Band of Horses, M.I.A., The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and a handfull of others I can’t recall at the moment.  I spent a little time with some new friends and old friends (even Kevin from @divisionday!).
Speaking of Division Day, I went over to their studio while they were recording with NIN bassist JMJ and I’ve since heard their finished record: people, back up your brains on an external brain because you’re going to have your minds blown.
I also went to the Pablove Foundation Benefit recently, there’s nothing like the community love in that room.  My thoughts are with Jeff, JoAnn, Grady and Pablo as they continue to walk through their journey as a family with an extended family/community in music and friendship by their side.

On the work front, I’ve been busy exploring new interests including the work I’ve been able to do recenly with professional boxing.  Boxing promotion and show promotion have a lot of parallels but part of the fun of boxing is that the outcome is completely unknown.  The “anything can happen” feel of it all combined with the majesty of the very sport has made it my new favourite sport!
More to come on that soon!
I’m going to Las Vegas for NIN in a week or so and I’m nervous/sad to see my last NIN show for the forseeable future… I’m sure whatever Trent plans to do musically or creatively will be ever present within our NIN community, but it’s sad to know that this might be longer than the old days of 5 year hiatus periods.  It’s been a great ride…
Not quite finished processing that one, but I’m sure I’ll be here to vent more about it soon… back to the bbq and the lovely So Cal weather!
