It’s Tuesday and you know what that means, Sir Pall McCartney has provided us with some musical gem of obscurity. This time it’s a well-KNOWN obscure band (I know what you’re thinking: Angeleenie, well-known and obscure are opposites). Well I thought so too, until I got a letter in my inbox from a fan of this band who was VERY upset about my inadvertent disinterest in them.

See, I went to their record release party and saw two bands, one of which was a pleasant surprise and the other one I’d heard before and had actually invited me to the event.

Rock shows being what they are and having an early morning meeting to make (not to mention a bout with hunger not even my beloved LUNA could cure) things ran late and I managed to only catch the first two bands and not the releasing band who was the main attraction.

That band was The Movies. According to Sir Pall and many other L.A. area musicans and music fans, this band is the most underrated band in L.A. and someone oughtta sit up and take notice!

Not that I’m that someone, but I guess in my own little way, I’m helping the cause by telling you that THIS song is badass. I’m sure their new album is too, and you can get it here: Spaceland - when they play there on May 9th

If you guys (meaning The Movies) wanna send it to me to review, I’ll be happy to check it out and write about it. Email me: angela@musicismybf.com and I’ll draw you a map.

Steve, this one’s for you man…

Enjoy!
